Kampala City Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago will have to wait little longer before he can return to office.
This is after the Leader of Opposition Wafula Oguttu revealed that there has been no formal discussion since December even after the Prime Minister assured the public that Lukwago would return to office before the end of February.
Oguttu says the Prime Minister Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda has failed to avail time for negotiation since they have been busy organizing NRM functions and he is currently attending the party’s annual retreat at the National Leadership Institute in Kyankwanzi.
Oguttu however remains hopeful that Rugunda will stand by his commitment to have Lukwago back in office.
Lukwago was thrown out of office in November 2013 by a tribunal led by Justice Catherine Bamugemereire over abuse of office and failing to conduct council meetings.
He has now threatened to drag KCCA to court over his salary arrears.
