The High Court has set March 20th to start hearing a case filed by city lord mayor Erias Lukwago challenging his removal from office.
Lukwago wants a tribunal report quashed and declared because it was based on irrationality, biased and against the principals of natural justice.
In his suit before the High Court he also seeks a declaration that the act of Kampala minister Frank Tumwebaze in extending the period of operation of the tribunal after the expiry of 60 days without notifying him was unlawful.
He also seeks damages for psychological torture mental anguish and emotional stress he has suffered.
According to his suit the tribunal acted in excess of its jurisdiction to amend the petition upon which the grounds that were not pleaded in petition were used to find a pre-ma facie case against him.
Lukwago contends that the tribunal acted as a prosecutor same time a judge which is against rules of natural justice when its council took witness statement led evidence made a report and made him guilty.
The case will be heard by the High Court judge Yasin Nyanzi.
