The instability and security vacuum in the Central African Republic (CAR) continues to negatively affect operations against the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA).
According to a statement from Security Council this remains a great concern.
This comes as efforts to enhance the search against the LRA insurgents intensify.
The council is now emphasizing the need for strong coordination and information sharing between the African Union-Regional Task Force and the African-led International Support Mission for the Central African Republic among other agencies.
The Council further calls for enhanced cross-border cooperation between affected areas, and adoption of Standard Operating Procedures, in order to better anticipate LRA movements and imminent threats of attack.
