The local business community is pressing on for their compensation from the South Sudan government.
Yesterday the police blocked the group’s meeting that had been called at Nsambya Sharing Hall to discuss the ultimatum to the South Sudan government.
Kampala City Traders’ Association Spokesperson Issa Ssekito says their petition is ready to be present to the Speaker of Parliament and the South Sudan ambassador to Uganda.
He adds that they want to pursue dialogue but if their demands are not met, they will have no choice but to strike.
Ugandan Traders operating in Sudan threatened to strike following the failure by the South Sudan Government to compensate them for merchandise lost reportedly due to torture by the South Sudan natives.
