9 victims of the lightening that hit Kiryandongo district yesterday remain admitted at Mualgo Hospital.
The lightning that struck in the afternoon left 18 dead and several others injured.
The children were transferred to Mulago Hospital last night and 6 of them have already been discharged.
Those discharged are said to have minor injuries which can be treated, while some of those admited are said to have huge cuts which the doctors are still treating.
The in charge of ward 3b, which is the Emergency Surgical Ward Tageyerawo Margret however says one of the children is still unconscious and is being examined by neurosurgeons as he is feared to have suffered brain damage.
The lightning struck Runyanya Primary School in Kiryandongo district following a heavy down pour.
The office of the Prime Minister says it will support those still admitted until they are discharged.
The assistant commissioner in charge of disaster management Rose Nakabugo says they are also providing transport facilitation for those already discharged.
Nakabugo says they are still studying the cause of the wide spread lightening though it could be as a result of climate change.
Other cases of lightening have been reported in the districts of Mayuge, Namayingo, Kamwenge, Kabarole, Jinja Alebtong and Kayunga with several deaths and serious injuries registered.
