The growing lack of internet access for women around the world, threatens to derail the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals’ pledge to “leave no-one behind”.
The concern was raised by International Telecommunication Union in a report released last week.
The findings by the ITU’s Broadband Commission for Sustainable Development indicate that 3.5 billion people are now online.
According to ITU’s Phillippa Biggs, this figure accounts for 47% of the global population- most of whom are men.
