Nine lawyers have had their post-graduate diplomas in legal practice cancelled with immediate effect.
This is after the Law Development Centre found them guilty of engaging in examination mal practice.
The same affected lawyers have been ordered to return their certificates to the Academic Registrar of LDC, the only institution in the country that offers post graduate diploma in legal practice.
The nine lawyers include Michael Mabikke, one of the lawyers of embattled four star general David Sejusa.
The others are Fiona Asiimwe Rwakiseeta, David Balondemu, Dennis Jenkins Kyazze, Moses Mugimba Muhumuza, Priscilla Mutebi, Dorothy Amuron, Joseph Lubega and Jane Namaganda.
In a statement to the media, LDC said they came up with such recommendations after a sub-committee was constituted to investigate the allegations of examination malpractice at the institution that were allegedly committed between 2004 and 2011.
In the same move, LDC has also recalled with immediate effect the diplomas of seven lawyers including that of prominent city lawyer who doubles as a legislator of the East African Legislative Assembly Denis Mukasa for further scrutiny.
Others lawyers whose diplomas have been recalled with immediate effect include; Friday Roberts Kagoro, Micheal Ezadri Onyafia, Deo Kizito Lutalo, Felistas Muloiti Nafula, Jackie Evelyn Nakalembe and Florence Kataike.
