The newly elected local council leaders have been instructed to arrest all those people in their jurisdiction found smoking in public places.

This is after the Kampala capital city authority banned smoking in public places like on the roads, bars and restaurant among others.

According to the mayor of Kampala central Charles Sserunjogi, they are going to use the newly elected LC1 and LC2’s to arrest smoking culprits who will after hand them over to police.

He says they are now going to sensitize all local leaders at the grass root level to ensure they implement this decision.
