Lawyers have petitioned court seeking orders restraining the Attorney General of Uganda, Chief of Defense Forces and the Inspector General of Police to produce before court the former Presidential candidate and also NUP party president Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine and wife whether dead or live.
In the application of habeas corpus filed before High Court Civil Division, the Advocates led by Anthony Wameli and Geoffrey Turyamusiima are seeking Court orders to produce Kyagulanyi and his wife Barbra Kyagulanyi Itungo before court for appropriate orders.
Bobi Wine who came second in the just concluded presidential election, has not left his home since he went out to vote on Thursday, last week and is not allowed to see his friends, lawyers, family and doctors.
The lawyers contend that the continued illegal detention of Bobi Wine and his wife is infringing on their rights to personal liberty.
They have asked for costs of the said application.
The case has been allocated to Justice Esta Nambayo who is yet to fix a hearing date.
