The vice chancellor Kyambogo University Prof Elly Katunguka has urged the University’s Staff to always exhaust available negotiation avenues before laying down tools.

The academic University staff association on Wednesday last week resumed work after close to a week after laying down their tools over delayed clearance of their allowances.

The lectures were demanding over 3 billion shillings which had accumulated since January to April rising from teaching allowances, marking, setting exams and research supervision.

Now speaking to Kfm Prof Elly Katunguka said the university management appreciates their concerns however adding that there are organs like the University council which should be engaged before any such action is taken.

He says following this procedure will minimize disrupting the University’s activities.
