Kyambogo University management is locked up in a meeting with student leaders over their renewed threat to strike.

The students have again threatened to stage another demonstration over poor sanitation at the university.

The meeting chaired by the university council chairman Prof. John Okedi is intended to reach an agreement between management and the students on the way forward.

According to the Guild President John Mugabi, the students are demanding that action be taken before Wednesday.

Meanwhile the situation at the university is calm, with anti-riot police deployed at the senate building and at the main gate to avert any possible chaos.

According to KFM’s Herbert Zziwa, the university has this morning embarked on a general cleaning exercise involving slashing of the compound and unblocking of sewer lines.
