President Museveni has reappointed Brig-Gen Felix Kulayigye as the UPDF spokesperson replacing Brig-Gen Flavia Byekwaso.

This has been confirmed by the acting UPDF spokesperson Lt col Ronald Kakurungu in a statement released today.

Byekwaso earlier this month handed over her office to her deputy Kakurungu in preparation for her course at the National Defense College.

Kulayigye is not new to this office as he served in the same position between 2005 to 2013.

He joined Uganda’s armed forces in 1989, after completing his first university degree.

Kulayigye once served as the Chief Political Commissar and In 2016, he was elected to serve as a Member of Parliament representing the UPDF in the 10th Parliament (2016 to 2021).

In February 2019, he was promoted from the rank of colonel to Brigadier in a military promotions exercise that involved more than 2,000 UPDF men and women.
