Consumers of Kubar, an imported narcotic drug are likely to die of throat and stomach Cancer.
This is according to findings from a critical laboratory examination of Kubar conducted by the National Drugs Authority.
The drug contains very dangerous toxins like pesticides that pose a threat to human health.
Kubar is a new narcotic drug of Indian origin currently sold on the Ugandan market especially on streets and in supermarkets.
The narcotic drug is packed in green attractive sachets similar to tea leaves pouches and is mainly consumed by students and taxi drivers and touts.
The executive director of the Uganda National Drugs Authority Dr. Gordon Ssematiko, they have now petitioned the ministry of health to work closely with the Uganda Revenue Authority and other security agencies to immediately stop the importation of the drug.
