Golden Boy Stephen Kiprotich has returned home.
He has led the victorious Team Uganda from London 2012 Olympic Games.
23-year-old Stephen Kiprotich who won Uganda’s first Olympic gold in 40 years, jetted in at 7:45am aboard British Airways.
Kiprotich was received by a number of government officials including education and Sports minister Jesca Alupo, Sports State Minister Charles Bakabulindi as well as senior members of the Sabiny community.
The officials are currently addressing a news conference held in the VIP lounge at the Entebbe airport.
At 11 o’clock, Kiprotich will proceed to State House Entebbe and will be received by His Excellency President Yoweri Museveni to officially welcome and congratulate him upon the significant achievement he has attained for his country.
Kiprotich, who won the 42km men’s marathon in 2.08.01, will then be hosted to a sumptuous breakfast at State House Entebbe in his honour.
Meanwhile MPs have been summoned from recess for a special parliamentary sitting to honour Olympics gold medal winner, Stephen Kiprotich tomorrow.
According to Parliament’s Public Relations Manager Hellen Kawesa, a special sitting will be held at 2pm.
Kiprotich is to be booked in one of the hotels in Entebbe to relax and freshen up.”
