Streams along the Kigumba-Masindi road have burst due to heavy rains cutting off transport activities between the two towns.
According to motorists, the most affected areas are Waiga stream near Nyambindo village in Pakanyi Sub County in Masindi district and Kaduku stream in Kigumba Sub County in Kiryandongo district.
The Kigumba-Masindi road is part of the 235km Kigumba – Kyenjojo road network, which government has promised to tarmack.
The road was divided into three sections and construction work for Bulima-Kabwoya and Kabwoya-Kyenjojo has already been commissioned.
However, the Kiryandongo district chairman, Ben Constantine Moru said that government has for a long time used the Kigumba-Kyenjojo road as a project to woo voters.
He said that right from 2010, some vehicles and graders were brought to begin work but they disappeared.
