Embattled City Physical Planning Director, George Agaba has been re- arrested.
This is in connection with the Luzira eviction exercise that turned bloody, leaving at least one person dead and four injured. He is currently being held at Jjinja Road Police Station ad it remains unclear if he will be charged in court.
The officer in charge of the police station Chris Katumba Kigundu says Agaba has been re-arrested to help with police investigations. He says his release on bail did not mean that he is free.
Agaba was first arrested with his body guard Santos Komakech who has already been charged with murder but was released on police bond. He has since then been suspended from duty, pending investigations into the matter.
Agaba’s arrest is come at a time when the lord mayor and members of the opposition are planning a demonstration in the city demanding that he is held responsibility for the shootings.
