Kampala capital city authority technical wing has declined to sue the minister of Kampala as instructed by the political wing led by the lord mayor Erias lukwago.

The authority councilors through Lukwago had instructed the director of legal department to file a suit against Betty Kamya over her alleged deliberate refusal to respect passed resolutions and issuing a directive to evict vendors without consulting the Authority.

Presenting a report during a council meeting today, the director legal department charles Ouma says they cannot file a case against minister Kamya because she is also a government official working with KCCA.

He explains that as the government officials, they report to the lord mayor and the minister and so they are constrained to take Kamya to court.

They have advised Lukwago to consider engaging with the minister and try solving issues out of the court.
