With less than a month to the much expected Holy Father’s visit to Uganda, Kampala Capital City Authority has announced completion of works on the major roads to be used by the Papal convoy.
Pope Francis is expected to touch down Entebbe International Airport on November 27, pay a courtesy visit to State House, then proceed to Munyonyo Matryrs’ Shrine in Makindye Division.
The city authority executive director Jennifer Musisi says this is a great opportunity to showcase its uniqueness because most of the destinations to be visited by the Bishop of Rome are situated in its peripheries.
She has confirmed that all major routes to be used by the Pope’s convoy are complete with only a few works ongoing to ensure all is set to receive the man of God.
Meanwhile Musisi also launched a Shs 3 billion drainage and waste management project aimed at mitigating the negative effects of El Nino, during the holy visit of the Pope Francis.
