Kampala Capital City Authority has embarked on a pilot project to install new street solar lights.
According the authority spokesperson Peter Kauju the pilot project is expected to be rolled out throughout the city to ensure security to the road users.
So far over 90 street lights have already been installed on several roads including Kampala Road, Entebbe Road junction, Mbogo road and Kabakaajangala among others.
The project is funded by a Shs1.2 billion grant from the Chinese government.
