One of the 24 Kaweesi murder suspects has made fresh claims of torture.
They had this morning appeared before the Nakawa Magistrate’s Court for heearing but the case has been adjourned to August 24th after prosecution represented by Caroline Opia told court that inquiries into the matter are still ongoing.
During the court session one of the suspects identified as Gibril Kalyango told court that he was tortured to sign some documents he did not know about.
In response, the magistrate has told Kalyango that he could only raise that issue in the high court as the Nakawa Magistrates court has no jurisdiction to hear such claims.
Kaliango also raised questions on the whereabouts of his family including a nine month old baby that he alleges are also arrested.
Nakawa Court Grade I Magistrate Noah Ssajabi has further remanded 24 suspects including a woman accused of murdering the Assistant Inspector General of Police Andrew Felix Kaweesi.
Kaweesi was gunned down on March 17th 2017 along with his driver Geoffrey Wamewo and body guard Kenneth Erau a few meters away from his home in Kulambiro a Kampala suburb.
