Arua district leaders have agreed to start implementing the ban on polythene bags.
This is meant to reduce on dumping and littering of the town with Polythene material.
The District Environment Officer, Joachim Andiandu, said there is need to stop usage, sale and transportation of polythene bags that are not approved by NEMA.
Andiandu said they would start the ban with supermarkets, shops, pharmacies, hotels and also at the border points where people carry their goods mainly in Kaveras.
