Rubaga North MP Moses Kasibante has finally been sworn in.
This follows a protracted court battle that stretched on for over a year with the NRM’s Singh Katongole. Kasibante was declared winner of the race on 20th February 2011 with 24, 054 against 18, 595 polled by closest rival Singh Paminda.
His victory was over turned by a controversial vote recount that was later nullified by court.
The Court of Appeal last week upheld a decision taken by the High Court nullifying the election of Katongole, who was ordered to vacate the seat immediately.
Kasibante has been welcomed to the house by the Deputy Speaker of Parliament.
