Kasese District Chairman Lt. Col. Mawa Muhindo survived lynching by a group of Basongora.
The incident occurred in Bigando village, Kitswamba sub-county when he arrived at the burial of some of the people who were killed on Saturday night.
Lt. Col. Mawa was not allowed to take a seat as stick wielding youths started hitting the windscreens of his car.
He was only saved by his driver who started the vehicle and took off.
The group reportedly hurled insults at Muhindo, accusing him of spending the entire weekend in Bundibugyo district when his district was in mourning.
The funerals in Bigando area were for ten of the eleven people who were killed by attackers on Saturday.
They include the family of Corporal Grace Nabimanya a UPDF veteran who was burnt together with his three children.
