The Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga has tasked the Ministry of Works to build public toilets on major highways.
Kadaga’s counsel was given on the back drop of plans by government to borrow about 110 million dollars from the Islamic Bank to finance upgrading of the Muyembe-Nakapiririt road in Eastern Uganda.
The Speaker noted that most road highways do not have public amenities for travelers, which is inconveniencing, adding that there should be comprehensive plans to cater for this.
The loan proposal has been referred to the National Economy committee for scrutiny.
