The speaker of parliament Rebecca Kadaga has revealed that she is not ready to take up the post of the vice president if it is offered to her by the President in the next cabinet.
Kadaga announced her position on the issue as she was meeting with the Busoga elected members of parliament for the 11th parliament.
Kadaga is currently fighting to retain her seat as the speaker of parliament, a post that has eyes on three other people including; the deputy speaker Jacob Oulanyah, the Kira municipality MP Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda and Bukoto central MP Richard Ssebamala .
The matter of rejecting the vice president post was first pushed by the members of parliament hailing from Busoga who told her never to accept any compromising post and leave the speakership post.
The member of parliament for Iganga municipality Peter Mugema aka Panado and the Luuka south county MP Stephen Kisa said that as Busoga members of parliament are not interested in any other post in cabinet but only want the post of the speaker.
Kadaga says she can not take up a position that does not put her in the decision making position arguing that as a vice, you only take up after the president.
