Addressing the press at the Kabale District Headquarters yesterday, RDC Nyakahuma emphasized the importance of the census for effective governmental planning and urged residents to refrain from any actions that could undermine its integrity,” should there be any form of resisitence or trying to sabotage this ecercise there laws in place this person will be arreseted charged and prosecuted if they refuse to cooperate with the numerators to give them the information they want that means you will be failing the Government to play its legitmate obligation making sure they get the accurate information to plan for uganda”” Nyakahuma said.
While acknowledging the absence of sabotage during the preparatory stages, he asserted his office’s readiness to take swift action against any attempts to interfere with the census activities.
According to Kabale District Planner Boaz Kakuru, a total of 983 enumerators have been deployed across 15 Sub-counties and Town Councils within Kabale District. Supervision will be provided by 125 Parish Supervisors and 30 Sub-county supervisors, with special census enumerators designated for the Police and Prisons departments.
