Judicial officers have asked government to procure for them vehicles if they are to actively execute their mandate in handling land justice matters.
Speaking to KFM, the Uganda Judicial Officers Association Godfrey Kaweesa says according to the law a judge is supposed to make an assessment before making a ruling on land related issues.
Kaweesa says many land cases have stalled in court because the judicial officers do not have enough transport facilitation or even buy for them vehicles for easy movement the land disputed places which in most cases are out of town.
He is recommending government to buy double cabins and also provide them with appropriate transport facilitation if land matters are to be expeditiously handled.
