Corruption and case backlog still plague the judiciary.
Six newly appointed judges have decried the increasing cases of backlog, which they contend is hindering dispensation of justice.
Judges Margaret Mutonyi, David Matovu, Lillian Tumusiime, Jessica Ayebazibwe, Asaph Ntengye and Patricia Basaza were today approved by Parliament’s Appointments committee.
Speaking shortly after the exercise, the judges also cited corrupt tendencies among some judicial officers, something that they believe should also be tackled.
