The trial of corruption charges against three former Ministry of Public Office, permanent Secretary Jimmy Lwamafa and two other officials is to resume today.

The trial which is before the Anti-Corruption Court, Judge Lawrence Gidudu is to continue with further cross examination of prosecution witness one Nathan Mutegeki who is the principle Auditor from the office of the Auditor General.

His two co-accused persons are Christopher Obey and Stephen Kiwanuka Kunsa.

They are charged with diversion of public resources.

It’s alleged that between 2010 and 2012, they converted and disposed of Shs. 88 billion for purposes unrelated to what the money was released for-NSSF and paid it to the benefit of third parties.

They also face other eight counts of abuse of office, causing financial loss, false accounting of Shs. 88 billion meant for NSSF contribution.
