The Inter-Religious Council of Uganda has scoffed at President Yoweri Museveni for likening Friday’s presidential debate to a high school debate.
Yesterday the president while addressing the media at his country home in Rwakitura, Kiruhura district said the concept of the presidential debate was not clear to him, describing it as more of a competition for high school students.
President Museveni also criticized the event as a foreign concept borrowed from the US.
The secretary general of the Inter-religious council of Uganda Joshua Kitakule however says the president like any other person is entitled to his opinion.
He says as far as they are concerned the debate was a success and gave voters an opportunity to gauge the strengths of the presidential candidates that participated.
