The police have released traffic guidelines to be followed during the Independence Day celebrations this week at Kololo.
According to the traffic police commander Kampala Metropolitan Lawrence Nuwabiine, upper terrace will be closed from 6am till evening while lower Kololo will be reserved for pedestrians.
He explains that some roads have been reserved for specific categories of people to avoid congestion, while commercial cyclists will not be allowed access to the venue.
Meanwhile several regional heads of state are expected to jet into the country tomorrow for the forthcoming national Independence Day celebrations.
These include Paul Kagame of Rwanda, South Sudan’s Salvar Kiir and Jakaya Kikwete Tanzania.
Uganda’s 52nd independence anniversary will marked on Thursday under the theme:
“Unity, Peace, Security and Regional Integration; key pillars for true and sustainable development”.
