The Inspector General of Government Irene Mulyagonja says the inspectorate must change its strategy of investigations if it is to win corruption cases against top officials and politicians in government.
She was responding to concerns from MPs about the continued loss of cases involving big politicians.
Mulyagonja says the losses were due to lack of pinning evidence, since many of them use the technocrats to access the money.
She says the strategy will be changed to target those who sign for the money.
Meanwhile, the Inspectorate of Government continues to grapple with inadequate funding and understaffing.
Presenting the budget framework for the next financial year, the Inspector General of Government, Irene Mulyagonja said the office needs Shs 43billion to function effectively.
This amount, she says does not include operational funds that total to Shs 2.2billion.
The budget sealing for the Inspectorate has however been set at Shs 36.4billion, which she says could leave key activities unfunded.
Mulyagonja says insufficient funding has majorly affected investigations and prosecution of cases.
