International Criminal Court Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda has asked for more time to prepare for the former LRA commander Dominic Ongwen’s case.
The prosecutor made the revelation during a meeting with the speaker of parliament Rebecca Kadaga this morning.
While the trial of Dominic Ongwen has been set for August, Bensouda says she has requested for some more time from the Judges to allow the prosecution and defence prepare better.
The speaker has welcomed her and pledged parliament’s continued commitment to support the court.
The prosecutor is now meeting Legislators from the affected areas in Northern Uganda.
The ICC set 24th August as date for provisional hearing to determine whether there are sufficient grounds to confirm charges against Ongwen.
