President Museveni has vowed to deal with anyone who attempts to block government programs.
While closing the new NRM MPs’ retreat at Ngoma in Nakaseke District, he accused the current parliament of frustrating government efforts by failing to approve required funds for implementation of government programs.
He cited the anti-tick vaccine project and the Nyaruzinga banana project which he said must get the money needed.
Museveni said he would not lobby or beg anymore but use his authority to ensure that no one slows down government programs in his new term.
He also asked the legislators to help him push for social economic transformation of their people and maintain peace among other things.
Meanwhile, President Museveni also lauded the new NRM MPs for supporting the government’s free education campaign.
This was after the MPs in one of their resolutions from the Kyankwanzi retreat committed to supporting the free education program by enforcing elimination of all fees in government schools.
The president who was closing the new NRM Mps retreat at Ngoma state Lodge in Nakaseke district said this practice is being promoted by some head teachers and local elites who want to extort money from parents. He however said such people should not be tolerated
He also asked the MPs to support social economic transformation of their communities by encouraging them to produce items with market locally, regionally and internationally.
