Hundreds have flocked Monitor publication head offices in Namuwongo to get free Hepatitis B screening.
Uganda’s Hepatitis B ambassador Jacque Dewei says those who test positive are helped to find where to get medical treatment and other checkups.
“The awareness and screening drive was conducted in preparation for the international day against Hepatitis B marked every 28th of July.
In Uganda, the day will be marked on August 1st in Adjumani district, under the theme: Hepatitis B is a silent Killer; Think Twice.
Some of the symptoms include tiredness, general aches, headaches and a high loss of appetite and weight as well as diarrhoea.
