Anti-homosexuality bill to be passed in 2 weeks

The speaker of parliament has pledged to have the anti-homosexuality bill finalized in the next two weeks.

This follows a request by members of the religious and CSO coalition during a meeting with the speaker today at parliament.

The members had requested that Mps give the nation a Christmas present by passing the anti-homosexuality law.

Responding to their concerns the speaker Rebecca Kadaga said the Ugandan people has spoken and it was only right for members of parliament to respond quickly.

She says Uganda is a democratic country and values human rights but the legislators also have a mandate to protect the country’s values. Sound
