The HIV/AIDS trials are on track.
Upto 50% of the work has been completed.
The same trial is being conducted in neighboring Kenya, Tanzania and the United States of America.
The country advisor immunization vaccines at the World Health Organization Dr. Andrew Bakainaga says the first phase attracted 42 participants from Uganda, 20 from Kenya and Tanzania and the United States.
Dr. Bakainaga with this vaccine in place, they expect to reduce cases of new HIV infections significantly.
Uganda has been part of a number of HIV vaccine trials although they have not been successful.
Other trials being conducted include that for Malaria and Tuberculosis.
