High court Judge Justice Catherine Bamugemereire has asked government to use the law of illicit-enrichment to curb cases of corruption in the country.

She says this law is in place but it’s not being implemented to punish corrupt government officials who are accumulating wealth which is questionable.

Illicit-enrichment is the significant increase of Assets of a public official that he cannot reasonably explain in relation to his lawful income.

She says this is common in developing countries including Uganda.
