The National Organization of People Living with Hepatitis B has organized a charity walk aimed at raising funds for purchase of a DNA Viral Load Machine.
The walk started a short while ago from Kololo Airstrip at 8am and the event intended to raise over Sh.500m is expected to be graced by president Yoweri Museveni.
The machine will help patients from the North and North Eastern Uganda where the disease is rampant.
The Director of the organization Kenneth Kabagambe says there will be free, hepatitis B screening, cervical cancer screening, HIV and diabetes testing, among other services.
Health officials have warned that upto 16million Ugandans are at risk of catching Hepatitis B.
