Security is beefed up at City Hall as the lord mayor’s office remains closed.
At the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) main gate, thorough checking is being done and entrance is only restricted to only those with clear identification.
At the main entrance to the KCCA offices, four officers are manning the registration of visitors while in the gardens police officers are visibly relaxing.
KCCA spokesperson Peter Kawuju says the deployment follows a recent terror alert issued by the police and has nothing to do with the lord mayor.
However reliable sources tell KFM that this is meant to deal with supporters of the embattled lord mayor who were expected to storm the offices.
