One person was killed after heavy downpour accompanied by strong wind caused havoc in most parts of Lira Town, Lira District.
Truth Fountain West Cathedral church’s wall at Central Park village in Central Division collapsed, killing a 22-year-old woman and injuring two others.
The deceased, whose body was taken to Lira Hospital mortuary, has been identified as Sarah Kia, a resident of Adidik Gweno village.
Those injured include Sam Ecel, the deceased’s husband, and a driver Felix Ayo.
They were rushed to Lira Regional Referral Hospital for medication.
LC1 of Central Park, Betty Okello Agwata, said the damage caused by the Thursday’s downpour was massive.
