The grand-children of late former Buganda King Sir Daudi Chwa are contesting the decision of the Deputy Attorney General for directing the Uganda National Roads Authority to deposit money for land compensation for the family to Buganda Land Board Bank accounts.
The Family led by Prince Henry Karemeera Kimera wants their compensation money be paid to High Court Bank accounts instead of Buganda Land Board accounts until a land case they filed before court is disposed of.
The family says on May 8th 2017 the High Court advised the Deputy Attorney General that the estate of the late Sir Daudi Chwa II is under the supervision of Court and that the compensation monies be deposited to the High Court account.
The family contends that UNRA and Buganda Land Board have connived to fleece Sir Daudi Chwa’s estate in the Kampala Jinja Expressway road project.
The land is question is located at Massajja in Kampala.
