Government has failed to account for 31 cases out of the 44 alleged kidnap cases they have received.

In his statement before parliament about the alleged kidnappings in the country, the internal affairs minister Gen Jeje Odongo says investigations are currently ongoing to trace the 31 people majority of whom are from Kyotera district and Kyebando in Nansana.

He  however says they have managed to handle 13 cases and admits that the majority were not kidnapped as alleged but rather were arrested lawfully while some have been charged and released on bail.

These he says include; Muyanja Sulaiman, Ssebaduka Ali Bogere, Twaibu Ddumba, and Babirye Rita among seven who are currently on bail

He adds that four others including  Lumu Ronald, Kabaale Benard, Mugarura Ronald and Shafik were not kidnapped but were arrested.

He meanwhile says a one Rogers Galiwango allegedly kidnapped from Kyebando with 10 others resurfaced after 3 days  while Fred Kiwananuka is yet to make a statement before police after he was allegedly abandoned in Busunju.
