The Ministry of health is to overhaul nine regional hospitals.
This has been revealed by the permanent secretary Asuman Lukwago.
He was this morning signing memoranda of understanding with the various construction companies.
Lukwago says the project that kicks off in two weeks will cost US Dollars 52m under the Uganda Health Systems Strengthening Project and is expected to be complete by 2015.
Some of the contracted companies include China National Concrete Plant, Yankin Uganda Ltd which will construct Nakaseke.
While China Railway Engineering Group which will construct Nebbi General Hospital.
The other hospitals to be overhauled are Iganga, Moroto, Mityana, Entebbe, Moyo, Anaka and Kiryandongo.
