Germany’s Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development Dr. Gerd Müller is expected in Uganda today for a three-day working visit.
According to a statement from the Germany Embassy in Kampala, his visit is focused on understanding the role of Uganda as a receiving country for refugees as well as on gaining an insight on the topic of food security in Uganda.
Later this afternoon he will meet President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, as well as the ministers for Foreign Affairs, Finance and Relief, Disaster Preparedness and Refugees for political talks.
Also on his agenda is the opening of the opening of the Deutsche-Welle-Akademie in Kampala in celebration of the German National Day before travelling to Arua region to visit a refugee settlement.
