Gender ministry to build shelters.

David Kugonza | December 12, 2016

The Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development is planning to construct five industrial business shelters for youth in Kampala who have labored to start their own businesses.

This is part of the nine year green and decent employment creation and labour productivity program to be implemented by the ministry.

According to the minister for Gender Hajjat Janat Mukwaya, the bulk of youth especially in Kampala city are employed in the informal sector doing works such as metal fabrication, carpentry among others but lack decent shelter to operate from.

She explained that in this program they are to start with five key centers in Kampala to help youth produce quality work.
