Retired Major Gen Mugisha Muntu has appealed to serving former bush war fighters to build a stronger culture of responsibility and accountability for the young generation to learn from.
Speaking to KFM following the death of Gen Elly Tumwine, Muntu says the deceased shall always be remembered for his courage during the war having fired the first bullet that launched the five- year bush war that ushered in the current NRM government.
At the time of his death, the four-star General had been in bad books of most Ugandans for his comment that police had the right to shoot and kill if violence reached a certain level.
However, Muntu admits that the pressure people in power face is overwhelming but it’s always advisable that they maintain restraint.
