Security experts have revealed that the survival of Gen Katumba Wamala from an attempted assassination will to a large extent help in investigations.
A joint security task team has started actively investigating the targeted drive-by shooting incident that occurred on Tuesday wounding General Katumba and claiming the lives of two, his daughter Brenda Nantongo and the driver Haruna Kayondo.
Speaking on the KFM hot seat last night, Fred Egesa, a security expert says Gen Katumba has a story to tell and is also aware of people who could be behind this attack.
“There is so much always in the mind of the target of assassination, I am very sure he has a story to tell, he definitely knows who, everybody has a black book within their mind, everybody knows who can be that bigger enemy that can invest, facilitate, plan and team up to come and take away your life. The idea that he survived is very advantageous to the investigators,” said Mr Egesa.
One of the daughters of the General, Diana Katumba has since revealed that their father had informed the family about threats to his life but did not divulge details.
On Tuesday, the UPDF spokesperson Brig Gen Flavia Byekwaso said they are considering phone call leaks relating to the attempted assassination of the General in their investigations.
Egesa meanwhile says most of the police investigations are blocked by the office of the Director of public prosecutions.
