Foreign Affairs Minister Gen. Jeje Odongo has urged the Chinese Government to expedite the clearance procedures of the Bilateral Air Services Agreement for Uganda Airlines to operate direct flights to China.
The minister was today receiving credentials of the Chinese Ambassador-Designate to Uganda Zhang LIZHONG at the Ministry Headquarters.
The Minister noted that China is now the largest source of Foreign Direct Investment, underscoring Uganda’s desire to enhance connectivity and boost trade by introducing direct air flights from Uganda to Guangzhou.
Meanwhile, Zhang on his part attributed the continued growth and strength of the relations between Uganda and China to the able political leadership of both countries.
