The former State Works minister Andruale Awuzu has died at Arua Regional Referral Hospital.
The daughter, Dr Pamela Paparu, says her father passed on aged 75.
Awuzu served as Vurra County MP in Arua district for two terms and Simon Ejua succeeded him both as area legislator and minister in-charge the same Works docket.
Previously, Awuzu served as an Engineer in the Uganda Army.
He is remembered for championing upgrading the Karuma-Pakwach-Nebbi-Arua highway from gravel to bitumen alongside upgrading of local roads within Arua.
As a minister, Awuzu met with transitional government officials in Kinshasa to explore possibilities for improving trade opportunities in the East and Central Africa.
Ayivu County MP Bernard Atiku who chairs the West Nile Parliamentary Group, has described the late Awuzu as a committed person whose foot-marks could be traced throughout the country as he served as minister.
He says the Speaker of Parliament has been informed about Awuzu’s demise.
